About me

Dr. biol. hum. Kerstin Minnich

I am a biologist and have worked for over 10 years at universities and various research institutions. My main research areas were virology, oncology and immunology – and the molecular mechanisms which underly pathogenesis and immune response continue to fascinate me.

Writing

I discovered my passion for tinkering with scientific language and texts during my study year at the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK, where writing assignments on various scientific topics were an integral part of the curriculum. From then on, I became increasingly involved in scientific writing, I attended training courses related to writing and editing scientific texts alongside my doctoral and postdoctoral activities, and continued to gain practical experience by writing proposals and scientific publications.

I am a member of the Association of Freelance Editors (VFLL).

Today, supporting and training authors in scientific writing as well as editing scientific manuscripts is the focus of my work. I am able to combine my enthusiasm for language with my fascination for natural science, while keeping in touch with current research projects.

Teaching scientific writing and supporting authors

In addition to editing completed texts, I provide individual support to authors before or during their writing process. I completed training at the Freiburg University of Education to become a writing coach and I also offer workshops on various aspects of the scientific writing process.

I am a member of the Society for Writing Didactics and Writing Research (gefsus).
